process

free guideWhile web site design may seem like magic, it's really just wires and mirrors.

Our 3-phase process is designed to give you every opportunity to assist in creating your professional, easy to navigate, informative web site.

Phase I: Conceptualization

  • Define the Site's Objectives

Specify your communication objectives and the information the site needs to meet these objectives. Ask not only what you want to accomplish, but how. This step drives the content of the site, while shaping its information flow and organization.

Knowing as much about your target audience (who) also helps specify the content and feel of the site. You may have more than one target audience, like employees, customers, and potential investors. Provide each of your audiences with content and functionality that appeals to them.

  • Design Site Plan

Designing the site plan involves determining the content (function), the presentation (page layout and graphics), and the navigation (flow) of the web site. Again, the purpose of the site dictates the content. Graphics, color schemes, and other design elements make the site visually appealing. The organizational structure determines how users will navigate through the site.

Phase II: Implementation

  • Design Custom Layout

Next, create a prototype of the site (without content) for review and testing. Get as much feedback from as many different people as possible.

  • Include Content

Finally, include the content in the site. Test and make any modifications. You now have a fully functional web site!

  • Publish the Site

Transfer the site to a web server for publication on the World Wide Web. Your site is now LIVE!

Phase III: Maintenance

  • Market the Site

Get the word out! Include your web site address on business cards, letterhead, ads, and brochures. Submitting your site to search engines on a regular basis helps potential customers find you via the Web. Also, request to have a link to your site included on other sites like professional associations and business partners.

  • Update the Site

Once the site is live, it needs to be monitored and updated regularly to attract and retain users. Providing a monthly newsletter, a calendar of events, news articles, press releases or even special offers will keep your site fresh and useful.
